Continuing our commitment to Junior Golf Development in South Florida

JUPITER DUNES JUNIOR GOLF DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

It is our philosophy that golf is a game – and kids like to play!! Over six years of camp operation, we have taught a lot… and learned even more. The following conclusions have brought us to where we are now…one of the largest and most respected junior golf programs in the south.

What we know…

  • children of all ages have relatively short attention spans. We have consequently developed a teaching style and lesson program that allows us to keep them smiling, motivated and engaged, thereby ensuring they get as much out of their experience with us as possible.

  • For most kids…doing anything day after day becomes repetitive and boring. We never want kids to dread their time at the golf course. To ensure that they look forward to it, we have structured our camp over three weeks, every other day – for no more than 2 hours.

  • The best teachers…are teachers! Our staff of instructors includes elementary and middle school physical education teachers, golf team coaches and golf professionals. We work together to create a fun, nurturing and safe environment for your children.

  • Kids are easily intimidated and can be very self-conscious. In appreciation of this, we group kids in teams of their peers who have had similar exposure to golf, experience playing and ability.

  • Together with teaching kids how to play, we have learned the importance of emphasizing sportsmanship, supportiveness, integrity and etiquette. Who says golf isn’t a team sport?

  • Being competitive is part of sport. Some children are more ready than others to go head to head with their peers. Recognizing this, we introduce our juniors gradually to competition, through team games, challenges and skills testing. By the time camp ends…we hope all our kids are ready, willing and excited to vie for age group honors in our session ending stroke play tournaments!

  • Children want to show off what they have learned. The more time parents can give to watch, listen or play with their kids, the better. We urge all of our kids to play golf outside of camp – and allow them on the course any time…with or without mom or dad.
